A GP model workbench for fund documents

Godric ingests fund documents locally, helps a professional review their economic interpretation, and builds readable, formula-driven Excel fund models — a workbench for the fee and carry economics of a GP business, not a black box.

What it does

Documents are imported explicitly and interpreted with evidence attached to each proposed term. A reviewer resolves conflicting or ambiguous economics before a model version is used. A tested deterministic engine, not a language model, calculates financial outputs, and the same structured definition produces both server calculations and native Excel formulas.

Who it is for

The initial user is a GP-stakes investment professional evaluating management-fee and carried-interest economics across a GP's existing and future funds. In practice that means the analyst who imports authorized documents, supplies actuals and assumptions, and generates drafts, and the reviewer who approves material economic interpretations before anything is published. Publication permission is separate from authoring.

Scope and limits

The first end-to-end product covers closed-end, USD-denominated management-fee models, including commitment and remaining-cost fee bases, fee classes, explicit reference dates, offsets, investment-period expiry, and successor step-downs. Unsupported provisions stay visible and block an approved complete model rather than being silently simplified. Source documents are not uploaded to the calculation service, and no confidential pilot is represented as approved.
